  • Password (stored securely via AWS Cognito)

2.2 Trip Preferences

When you plan trips, we collect:

  • Vacation type preferences
  • Number of adults and children traveling
  • Children's ages (not names or birthdates)
  • Trip duration and travel dates
  • Budget preferences
  • Planning style preferences

2.3 Family Profile Information

To personalize recommendations, you may optionally provide:

  • Family member labels (e.g., "Mom," "Child 1")
  • Dietary preferences and food allergies
  • Travel style preferences (pace, timing, accommodation type)
  • Amenities needed (pool, kitchen, etc.)
  • Kid-specific preferences (naps, activity level, outing duration)

2.4 Health and Accessibility Information (Optional and Sensitive)

To ensure your family's comfort and safety during travel, you may choose to provide:

  • Accessibility needs (wheelchair accessible, stroller friendly)
  • Medical notes relevant to travel
  • Severe allergies

This information is entirely optional. We use it only to filter activities and venues for accessibility, recommend appropriate restaurants, and share relevant information with hotels when necessary to accommodate your needs. We do not sell health information or use it for advertising. You can delete this information at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at hello@gowithrosie.com.

2.5 Booking Information

When you make a booking, we collect:

  • Check-in and check-out dates
  • Number of rooms and room preferences
  • Guests per room (adults and children)
  • Children's ages for pricing purposes

2.6 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number. We only retain: the last four digits of your card, the card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), payment status, and transaction records.

2.7 Venue Preferences and Engagement

As you use the Platform, we collect information about venues and activities you like, dislike, or skip. This helps us improve recommendations for you and for families with similar profiles.

2.8 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect:

  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Browser type and version
  • IP address
  • Pages visited and features used
  • Time spent on pages
  • Referring URLs
  • Error logs and performance data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide our services: Create and manage your account, process bookings, send confirmations and vouchers

  • Enable Like Families matching: Connect you with anonymized recommendations from families with similar profiles

  • Improve our Platform: Analyze usage patterns, identify issues, develop new features
  • Send marketing communications: With your consent, send promotional emails about travel deals and Platform updates

  • Comply with legal obligations: Meet tax reporting requirements, respond to legal requests

4. How Like Families Matching Works

Our Platform helps you discover venues, activities, and destinations enjoyed by families similar to yours. Here's how it works:

4.1 What We Use for Matching

We use attributes you provide (such as children's ages, travel preferences, dietary needs, and interests) and your engagement data (venues you like or dislike) to identify patterns and find other families with similar profiles.

4.2 Your Identity Is Never Revealed

When we share recommendations with other users, we never disclose your identity. Other users will only see that "a family like theirs" enjoyed a particular venue or activity. They will never see your name, email, profile photo, or any information that could identify you.

4.3 Similarly, You Don't See Others' Identities

Recommendations you receive from Like Families are anonymous. You'll know a family with a similar profile enjoyed something, but you'll never know who they are.


5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

5.2 Accommodation Providers

When you make a booking, we share necessary information with the hotel or accommodation provider to fulfill your reservation, including your name, contact information, check-in/check-out dates, and any special requests or accessibility needs you've provided.

5.3 Promotional Partners

If you choose to participate in promotions or giveaways (such as through Gleam), your information may be shared with the promotion platform. We will never automatically enroll you in promotions; participation is always voluntary.

5.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

5.5 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on our Platform of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.


6. Children's Privacy

Our Platform is designed for adults planning family travel. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

When adults create accounts and plan trips, they may provide information about children in their family, including:

  • Ages of children traveling
  • Labels or nicknames for identification (e.g., "Child 1")
  • Dietary restrictions and allergies
  • Accessibility or medical needs

We do not collect children's names, birthdates, or other personal identifiers. This information is provided by parents/guardians for the purpose of customizing travel recommendations and ensuring appropriate accommodations. Parents may review, update, or delete their children's information at any time through their account settings.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information directly from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at hello@gowithrosie.com and we will promptly delete it.


7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Our retention periods are:

  • Active account data: Retained while your account is active
  • Incomplete trip drafts: Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
  • Completed booking records: Retained for 7 years for legal and tax purposes
  • Payment records: Retained for 7 years (IRS requirements); full card details are handled by Stripe per their retention policy
  • After account deletion: Personal data anonymized within 30 days; anonymized booking data retained for 7 years for legal purposes
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized after 24 months

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Secure authentication through AWS Cognito
  • Access controls limiting who can view your data
  • Regular security assessments
  • PCI-DSS compliant payment processing through Stripe

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users without unreasonable delay and in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. Notification will be provided via email to the address associated with your account and, where appropriate, through a prominent notice on our Platform.

9.1 Access and Update Your Information

9.2 Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your account and personal data by using the account deletion feature in your settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, we will anonymize your data within 30 days, subject to our retention requirements for legal and tax purposes.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by updating your preferences in your account settings. Please note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you transactional messages related to your bookings and account.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

  • Commercial information: Booking history, purchase records

10.2 Sale of Personal Information

We do NOT sell your personal information as defined by the CCPA. We do not receive monetary or other valuable consideration in exchange for your personal information.

  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate information
